British Bone Marrow Donor Appeal

As many of you know, Brian May is the patron of the British Bone Marrow Donor Appeal, a charity which is saving the lives of leukaemia victims by finding them bone marrow donors.

Now the trustees of the BBMDA have decided to bring the BBMDA to an end as it has achieved its goal of more than 140000 donors tissue typed.
They still have funding until 2004 and the British government has agreed to coninue to tissue type 40000 donors per year to maintain the registry.
More than 2000 life saving donors have been foud so far.

I would like to personally say a HUGE thank you once again to all of you, Queen fans, family and friends who contributed so magnificently to the cause over the last few years. The appeal closes on a note of Triumph - not only has the government finally decided to keep rolling the snowball we have started, but across the board attitdes have been changed, making "full tissue typing available to all" the accepted norm.

THANK YOU - you have changed history.

WIth love, Brian
